Date – July 18th
Ducks batted first and some tight bowling from
the Invitation XI together with some suicidal running between the wickets saw
them restricted to a score of 77. Since Gil’s XI lead by 8 from the first
innings, a total of 70 or more would once more square the series.
The required total was passed with some ease
and the Invitation XI batted on to allow Zulf a much deserved half-century.
Zulf was man of the match for his bowling as well as his batting, and Saeed
named man of the series for his consistent performance across both innings.
The score is now 5-5 in the match series. Once
again the feat of winning the trophy three times in succession has not been
managed and so we carry on !
Match Moments:
Dave injuring his ankle before play had even
begun and looking to be in danger of not being able to play at all, then
producing some fine tight bowling after all. Hooray !
Liam scoring 6 in his first ashes match. Go on
my son !
Dexter completing a successful transfer and
then getting momentarily confused about whom he has just played for !
